Use this SEWING PATTERN to make a classic messenger bag. Make one for yourself, to give as a gift to a favorite friend, or to sell in your own online store.
This bag is not big, but in addition to the main compartment there are also seven pockets:
front exterior pocket - no closure, it is under the flap
back exterior pocket - small VELCRO tab closure
one stretchy pocket along each side - great for keys, water bottles, phone
one interior pocket divided into a small pocket and two pen slips - a great place for your Moleskine and writing instruments
It has a hanging/carrying loop at the top.
Instructions are included for a button and loop closure. The flap is long enough that it does stay down on its own, so you can skip the button if you like.
The strap is adjustable (approximately 28"-55").
This pattern is suitable for those with some sewing experience or the patient beginner. It takes about 3-4 hours to complete (actual time depends on your own sewing speed).
